A Finback and Slice, a great September afternoon

Good evening everyone, what a beautiful afternoon it was on the water, especially after the rain we had this morning!  We started our trip off with a minke whale off Green's Point, and it was Slice.  We spent some time there before making our way out to search for fin whales.  We had to head our further than expected but we were successful and we found one large finback a mile or so off South Wolf.

We also stopped in the Islands on the way home and had a wonderful look at a bald eagle on an abandoned herring weir off Spruce Island.

Thanks for everyone who joined us today and thank you for checking in,

Cheers,
Danielle

  1. Finally able to get back ro reading your posts. I spent a few days on Grand Manan (not long enough) and visited the whale and seabird research station. Didn't have enought time there either. But it was great to see it.
